this wkend confirm my most tiring and enriching one LOL. yes, headed to marina barrage with parents this morning had to wake up at 7am sia OMG :( so when i came back heehee i slept until 6.15pm :X its actually an outing with my dad frens family as well .. and omg guess i saw there?! NP IT helpdesk uncle HAHAHA he went there with his family too.. he recognise me lorrr..

they got this gallery whereby they can demo to you how the barrage actually works in reality! super interesting! so first it rains ~~ accompanied by built in thunder sounds LOL

then one side of the water signifying the reservoir the other side is the sea.. when the sea is low tide, as more rainwater falls into the reservior, it will cause flooding in low plain areas.. so in order to prevent floods, they install this barrage system whereby the gates will automatically open when they detect flooding (:

this is when the gates are closed..

when the sea itself is high tide, so even when it floods in reservoir we cannot open the gates cos the sea waters will flow back and contaminate our fresh water..so... the water will flow out through the 7 pipes installed..

oh wells, bet now we all know much better abt marina barrage ya? hahahas. glad that i came today, or else i din even know how all these structures work LOL. and today we came to know a fact between westerners and asians based on the purpose of their visit to different country..

westerners: they look more to visiting museums, place of attractions, nature reserves, etc more on knowing more abt their culture and lifestyle...

asians: focus more on food and of course their paradise ->> SHOPPING lol. of cos they do visit such landmarks as well, but they placed more interest in the 2 stuff above i guess.. or maybe thats how i feel :X
